The Legend of Urban Fridays IV

the perfect reward after a long week of projects

an award winning performance

from the office elevator to the basement car park

no patience for later, no waiting for after dark

heat of the moment, but years in the making

something new, but no novices

in the back of the old school

maybe a yacht deck in the future

but staying in the moment…

windows misty like a scene out of the Titanic

so risky but little to no panic

luckily no camera lenses

just a focus on the romance

Pleasure In Platonia II

On The Heath

A quiet stroll on the boardwalk after talks over tiramisu and irish coffee. Streaks of light fading into the summer night. Ocean waves conducted into patterns we could barely see, just as the distant moon. Shapes of scattered vessels floating amid the choirs of the gentle wind, and monuments yonder – built by generations from before – which we observed with awe, and they reminded us that we had better grasp the moment and savour all that it evoked, and so we got closer and I got lost in her.

a matter of sense(s)

c’mon man… can’t you see our reputation is on the line here?

I don’t see it

and frankly,

I don’t care…

     I bet you don’t

  I’m not budging

where’s your sense of pride, man

your self-esteem

quit playing man

just hear me out

seriously, just try to see this how I see it

there’s a lot at stake here –

no, thanks

f*ck you then n*gga

I should’ve known better than to waste my damn time

with your sorry a*s –

you… you… you know what man?

after all these years, I’ve finally figured it out –

you.. you don’t belong here

you’ve got no sense of self left bro!

I can’t even identify with you no more

is not having a sense of self the same as

having no sense at all?

but to have character –

well, is that not more practicable?

but that’s another matter altogether brother

hublihubla n*gga

that sh*t don’t make no sense –

eh… seriously tho…

what’chu on about?

common sense

Kingdom of Cool

chaos had killed the calm

counterfeiting the cool

they knew not protection

but harm

in the kingdom of doom

if the architecture of a civilisation lays bare a people’s way of life then, by the same token,

the make up of an individual is revealed when observing how well-adjusted they are to society

63 on the Quay

after an intimate walk on the wharf

they had a quiet talk on the terrace

and there she said:

“I stopped wishing you were my man long ago

because I know no one can ever have all of you

and now I just wish he was more like you

but I know he can never truly have me

just as I’ll never really have you but still can’t let you go”

time and talent: the cooking show

as if cheffing over a cauldron

or cooking

with the Dutch oven

trying to make a meal

using dung fuel

Tesla sleep patterns

just to beat Tom and Ed

in a war for the future and current

like a fool making disclosures with no patent

drafts and submissions

Reality… Fiction…

mister chef in the kitchen

what is it you’re cooking?

he tells nothing of what happens

yet he works until the morning

and although he longs for bed

he knows time is talent and keeps working instead
