Finding Forest

they were lost

hiking Constantia Nek

before finding their way back,

but as imperfect as that may seem –

the moments had all the makings of dreams

he wondered if it might’ve been the summer

but was almost certain she was the one

melting his heart

the sound of her laughter –

subtle like the streams

but as bright as the flora

it was as if the content of her mind

shaped her beauty

into a work of art

but even with her sublime features

and the fact she belonged to the intelligentsia

she remained tender and simple in spirit

and without any ifs and buts

she gave him back his strut
