The Becoming II

as a boy

nothing was better than getting a new bike for my birthday

and mama sure bought me a bunch

back then I used to enjoy burning rubber

nowadays I chase the beach and the breeze

books and blessings, and sometimes babes

but what can I say…

I guess a boy becomes a man

how times change

this is now, that was then

from bikes to babes…! a beach boy who combs for life now. πŸ™‚

  2. true – but as they say child is the father of man – your bike is now a Mercedes – indeed a boy becomes a man – but a man who is still a boy is the best.

Most men are still little boys at heart. The things they had a passion for in their childhood seem to stay with them forever. (I suppose the same is true for women as well, to a degree.) Childhood memories are always the best.
