a Sunday in the South

absorbing the freshness of a blessed late summer night

one watches as the candescent moon and its lunar halo

parasols a portion of the beautiful blue glistening sky,

and listens as the wind cheers the trees into howl-like carols,

with an awareness that proves heaven is before the eye –

but only when one sees in truth
