Unsettled
Posted: April 28, 2015 Filed under: Inhibitions Illustrated 15 Commentsautumn night backyard garden sit-down
gives a nostalgia
of the time back at Carne Place, in Port Solent
where I rented a small space by the water
with my best friend
and I had a lover
other than that, not much else…
still, I lived by the gods’ graces
but there I made love atop the stairs, and in the garden…
smoked haze and wrote poems and plays when I wasn’t working or having a laze
that was the routine, the pattern
then I decided I needed a change
and even shed tears when I left her
and so many years later
on this autumn night garden sit-down
I’m reminded of those unsettled carefree days
the paradox

I often wonder about the girls who were there, back then.

[smile] I posted a similar reminiscence recently. The paradox there was, it may have settled me.
Settled me, or broken us both. So, perhaps best to remain unsettled, eh?

It’s going quite well at the moment, Heath, so thank you for asking! I’ve missed so many posts and comments this week because I’m in Spain, doing some extra bits of research for it. I’m in Serville until Monday, the go off to Cordoba, where some of my ‘action’ takes place. AndalucΓa is an amazing place and I know I won’t feel like going home next Thursday. Hope your writing is moving along, too. π

Sounds exciting and a lot of fun, Millie… no wonder your writing is so sharp, you clearly do thorough research. Enjoy the rest of your trip. We’ll all benefit from it π
