A Night Shadow in Arabia ii

She said:
it was not right
how you left Harare
in such a great flight
that year – when you went to lands so far
like it was the Hegira
when Muhammad went to Medina

thought you’d become a better writer
determined as much as He was to become more than just a caravan leader
and now too your marriage will be a boon
as was His to Khadija

but I just hope your strange dreams
that you spill on the pages
reward you some day with just as much reach
as had the Ayah

Some interesting references to aspects of Islam. Your poems have all been very educational today. 🙂

Do you find that words come to you at like 3 am in the morning? (This happens to me all the dang time)

strange you mention that because I was thinking exactly that early this morning about 3am too… I really mean that… for me the secret is practising patience through perseverance… I have to coax my muse 24/7 (un)consciously and she usually provides after some prolonged begging and usually in the wee hours of the morning as Sinatra put it 🙂
