Beatitudes Bay ii

You never think about whether it pays to stay with me, do you?
Well, I’ll let you know now that I sure don’t want to be appraised. I want to be valued.

What’s that supposed to mean?

You can’t gauge my usefulness solely based on today – when it’s only a thing of beauty you see.
How about tomorrow when we’ve grown with age? Will you lose all respect then?

I don’t know what to say… I mean…

Okay, let me put it in other words, in a masculine language, and terms you understand!
It’s as if you want to estimate my actual worth – the way you act sometimes… it’s really not fair.
I want you to value me. By that I mean you should consider the future, what I’ll be worth to you then.
The passion I’ll inspire, the care and counsel I’ll render. That I know for certain you desire.

You don’t say. Eh, I see it now. I feel it, love. Can’t argue with that.
So there, you can have my heart.
