Saint Somewhere Street iv

she asked why I gotta love so much and so many
and said that it was not my ardent desires
or my natural affinity for the imperfect…
but my actions that made our position untenable

I didn’t ask for pardon
only who was to love her better than I’d done
and who was to sustain her passion
since the one she had at home was ineffectual
to which she replied ‘if I find no one more fitting, I can always come back around, right?’

‘of course,’ I responded. ‘I’ll always be here for you.’

at that point we shared an incongruous embrace
as though we were incipient lovers rather than parting paramours

HI Heath. Yes, I’m OK and hope you are, too. My book is coming along nicely now and I hope to get more done now that the weather doesn’t tempt me outside so much. 🙂
