For a start, until your craft becomes the lifeblood of your very existence, keep spilling the flood of thought on your canvas of choice but only if you feel it in your heart and spirit, because art gives voice and demands acceptance by default. But ultimately, only responsible expression can open the gateways to infinite heavens wherein immortal works fly long after the creators’ lives descend.

  1. An interesting concept: “responsible expression.”
What, then, would be “irresponsible” expression? And why would it not last?

An interesting remark and fascinating question. By using the term concept I’ll obviously assume we both agree on responsible expression being something conceivable. Not addressing that conception and the negation of it would consequently be irresponsible taking into consideration ethics, morals and all other human ideals. However, it is up to the creator to determine what those are. Lastly, consider all that has “lasted”. What is contained in it that warrants preservation? Is it not the remnant of that same responsible expression?

  3. Indeed, creations that lasted seem to be those that talk to our emotions in a “positive” way. I use “positive” in the sense of “not hurtful,” “not abject,” or… “not evil.”
I’ve also used the word “creations” in the large sense of “all that we create.”
But you might have thought of art only while writing your blog: visual arts, language arts, performing arts, music…
In that case, all might last, some more prominently than others, a few with world wide recognition.

However, if you get into ethics, morals and human ideals, the good stuff lasts, the average stuff lasts a little while, and of the bad stuff only the bad memory and nightmares last. It appears that humans tend to fight and overcome what they perceive as evil (irresponsible) ideas and “creations” and they prevail… no matter how long it takes…
