Political Pen ii

It appears to me that the body politic
Of the most impactful nation on the planet
Is in dire need of some sort of a tertium quid
In the form of a candidate who would conquer what’s already divided
But because none have the means or technique
And without a party to provide backing should they manage to supersede
It’s likely they will simply have to accede to the disagreeable course on which whoever takes seat shall route the ship
So now please explain to me what it really means and what it represents – this word democratic

  3. A bit of sticky to hold the thing together, such a novel idea ! Democracy in the expeditious form really does not look like a proper democracy at all, does it ? If only there was more time ! ; )

I’d rather the Great King Will filled the void. Surely glorious days would follow #voteforleeone 🙂

I like your “civil” discourse about the mess we are in in the U.S. It is frightening. One thought I have about what democratic means is that we are free to be unruly. I do believe we will muddle through battered scarred with the real problems not addressed. I never considered that the last few decades of my life would be so tumultuous. I do not give up hope.

You have such an elevated view. Absolutely agree with ‘free to be unruly’. I also share your hopes but acknowledge that what is can never be ideal and history does show that the death of politics is contemporaneous with the descend of a civilisation. Which is not to say that won’t give rise to other. I wonder how society will be transformed in the coming decades.

  10. And you Sir, are either the most insightful person that God in his glory ever created, or you are simply demented. I prefer the former. ; )

You will need to talk to the ancient Athenians about democracy. It certainly isn’t showing itself anywhere around here.
