Halfeti Rose

she was a beauty
with baby soft skin… bronze with brown patina
like Bartholdi’s Genius in the Clutches of Misery sculpture

but she was more than art
she had soul and heart
besides, everything about her was joyous

her brown eyes sparkled
and you could see the white light to heaven through her sclera

no ifs, ands, or buts about it
I was in love with her
because she was perfection down to the eyelashes

the best species in the nursery
and the only flower in my bed of horticulture

Light and gentle arrangement of words in your poetry. Beautiful.
