Coal Kid ii

His dream was to live like a Kushite king
And extend prosperity to his progeny for at least a century
The way his ancestors had done during the reign of the 25th dynasty
Instead of sorting out gabbage from the bins like the Zabbaleen
But for that time being
He had no option but to keep at what he was doing
Maintaining… surviving

So mornings ’til evenings
He was out grinding
And while most were likely comfortably sleeping
He’d be up, scheming of ways to make something out of nothing

Unwavering in the pursuit of his ambition
It was no surprise he eventually started winning
Black boy odds defying
O, so inspiring!

The Nubins/Kushites/Ethiopians were an amazing force in the ancient world. I don’t really understand why the Egyptians are remembered and they are not.

I think it may be because history is often a reflection on relevance within the context of prominence.

I guess. It still seems like a pretty major civilization to have buried in history
