A Match Made On Earth ii
Posted: December 18, 2016 Filed under: Words In Imaginary Motion 7 CommentsI had a Wabi-sabi moment
as I sat there admiring her beauty
in the bonsai decorated tea garden
all her imperfections had an ephemeral quality
dismissable on reciprocation
but noted for that time being as a self-defence mechanism
in case there was no exchange of feeling
then I could always use that as my reason for not pursuing
but when it soon became clear she was in the company of another man
I used that reason instead to escape the fanciful chase and consequently cease all intent to perpetuate hormone induced wooing
based on just instant and peculiar attraction
and as I let go of the fantasy
reinforced by a somewhat cowardly but moral code
that what one couldn’t have, one had no right to desire
ironically then I also found myself actually enjoying the cup of matcha on the chabudai
instead of indulging in lustful thoughts over the gorgeous girl who could potentially be a future femme fatale
and was unfortunately not a match to be

Happy ending after all. I understand ceasing to want what I cannot manage to have anymore.
