On the Road to Reign

keep an upright posture
but more important, do what’s right
so that when they call your bluff
you can hold your head high
shoulders up, cool and calm
fear-free and straight in stature
always confident in your abilities

because there’s no better way
to show your power pose
than to exhibit no sign of insecurities
since there’ll surely be no need
if you’re already real with yourself
and true to your nature

so while they look down on you
stay focused on your come up
for they don’t know your rising hour
is just around the corner
and soon too you shall push through
from the ground up and conquer
better still, from right under their nose
to become the king or queen
you’re truly meant to be

and always remember
they cannot take anything from you
that you willingly give away
and trust you’ll find too
that what truly makes it easy
to forgive and love your enemies
is to recognise in them
what was once in you
I believe they call it empathy

I truly like this. I think empathy is a precious gift that softens rough edges.
