Like Money, Like Love

The expectation of profit stimulates investment of capital into labour, but so too does the anticipation of pleasure fuel romantic endeavour. And when you consider that we give our nations and states power to spend the fruits of our efforts as they desire when in fact they are the greatest of debtors, then it’s unsurprising that with our notions of love we are also prepared to relinquish personal freedoms to mollify the insecurities others. No wonder realities never ultimately live up to the fantasies either.

  1. It’s important to me to find ways to enjoy the process, because the goal can never be assured. Those who compromise on principle will not be satisfied with results, most likely. What you have to fight to win, you have to fight to keep. Same with cheating or lying.

Hi Kath, you’re absolutely right about finding enjoyment in the process and the fact that the goal is never assured. Good perspective. Thanks for engaging.
