Sand to Sky

like sand at the bottom of the sea
settled
never to reach the heights of heaven

that’s how it feels
when you dig deep
and can’t resurface

even so
never despair
for if you can bear long-suffering for but a season
joy will soon spring up

but remember to keep some strategic thoughts to self
since you need not say every word
speak on every endeavour
or tell every tale

instead
let your work reveal to the world
the depths of your understanding
