the summer effect

cunning senses
of those with carnivorous tastes

who are easily tantalized by barbecue smells at summer bashes
and are aroused by any chance of romance, music or dance
or the prospect of making new friends

cunning senses
that never learn the lessons

Yes, we always know when summer arrives, Heath. The first warm day and the barbecues are out, surrounded by people sharpening their fangs. I love this poem and it made me laugh. (Sorry, if you didn’t intend it to be funny.) 🙂
